Dedicated power means that the computer you will be using in performance is plugged into a power circuit that isn't providing power to any other devices. Clean, dedicated power is critical for ensuring stable, reliable performance. Note: dedicated power means more than just being plugged alone into a wall outlet or power strip. Wall outlets will often be on the same circuit as other outlets in different parts of the building. It doesn't help to have your computer plugged into an outlet that is sharing the same circuit as the light board and the popcorn machine! Indeed, theatrical lighting equipment is notorious for compromising power to computers.
